Devotional:

1 Peter 3:10-11

Those who desire life and desire to see good days, let them keep their tongues from evil and their lips from speaking deceit; let them turn away from evil and do good; let them seek peace and pursue it.

Colossians 3:15

And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful.

The one thing that we have to remember about peace is that we have to pursue it.  We have to seek out peace.  This is not something that will fall in our laps.

Peace is not a matter of who has the most steady and even circumstances.  Peace does not fall upon the person who has the least amount of drama or difficulties or worries in life.  Peace is not for the lucky who have somehow dodged the bullet of sickness, heartbreak, and death.

Regardless of our circumstances, all of us have the power to pursue peace.
