Join Church and Society on March 26th for Vigil on Capitol Hill
This Wednesday, the faith community is raising a prophetic and pastoral call to Congressional leaders to serve as the check and balance to advance the common good.

Church and Society with Sojourners and more than 25 other co-sponsors, are continuing a series of faithful witness vigils at the Capitol every Wednesday in March at 12 noon ET.

These multi-faith vigils calls on Congress to exercise greater moral courage in upholding its Article 1 powers and preventing executive overreach. Our nation faces an escalating threat of a constitutional crisis fueled by the Trump administration’s overreach and unconstitutional actions.
A lack of leadership in Congress has allowed this crisis to grow, as it cedes its role as a co-equal branch of government. They feature faith leaders from diverse traditions offering inspirational prayers and calls for faithful action.
Our speakers for the March 26th rally include:
- Rev. Moya Harris, Director of Racial Justice, Sojourners
- Rev. Jim Wallis, Professor of the Practice and Chair in Faith and Justice, Center for Faith and Justice, Georgetown University
- Michele Dunne, Executive Director of The Franciscan Action Network
- Rev. Dr. Sofía Betancourt, President of the Unitarian Universalist Association
- Joan F. Neal, Interim Executive Director, Network Lobby for Catholic Social Justice
Together we can provide a faithful witness by speaking truth to power about this mounting crisis, what is at stake, the people and communities who are already being harmed - and what we can do to make a difference!
Event Location: Senate East Front, Grassy Area 8 Bounded by Constitution Ave NE, First St NE, Northeast Dr and the East Front Plaza Washington, DC 20002 United States
