April 30 – United Methodist Volunteers in Mission (National Volunteer Month)
An 18-member United Methodist Volunteers in Mission team from Illinois, Kansas, North Carolina and Ohio was braving ice storms and flight cancellations to participate in a one-week mission journey in Manos Juntas, Rio Bravo, Mexico.
