Author's bio:

Rev. Dr. David Rangel is originally from Monterrey, Mexico and is currently a pastor in the North Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church. He came to Dallas in 2005 as a missionary to support the Hispanic Methodist churches of the North Texas Conference of The UMC. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. In the summer of 2018, he received his Life Coach certification and acquired his Doctor of Ministry from Perkins School of Theology, SMU in 2020. He pioneered the launching of the first multi-site church in Spanish in the North Texas Conference. In addition to pastoring, he leads his own Momentum coaching group which trains pastors and churches in preaching, discipleship, leadership, and ministry strategies. In the summer of 2018, David Rangel joined the teaching faculty at Perkins School of Theology's Regional Course of Study where he teaches Preaching 324, Advanced Preaching, and Discipleship Training. Pastor David is the author of several books, including Vuela, Predicación 2: Una guía para predicadores en desarrollo, El Método: Un acercamiento al discipulado desde una perspectiva contextual wesleyana, and other discipleship and membership materials such as Route 180 and Explore. He has been married to his wife Liliana since 2011, and together they have two daughters, Emma Olivia and Camila Michelle. His two favorite passages are Jeremiah 29:11 and Colossians 3:23.
