United Methodist Communications Releases 2024 Annual Report
Nashville, Tenn. – United Methodist Communications has released its 2024 Annual Report, highlighting the agency's activities and initiatives supporting The United Methodist Church worldwide.
"2024 was an exciting and transformative year for United Methodist Communications. Our team of professionals played an integral role in supporting General Conference, offered stories of inspiration and clarity amid an environment of misinformation, and resourced leaders with access to ministry support across the denomination," stated General Secretary Dan Krause. "We did all this while strategizing to meet the evolving needs of The United Methodist Church and to ensure a presence for The UMC in relevant communication platforms across the globe.”
Highlights of the agency’s overall accomplishments in 2024 include:
- 12.5 million+ webpage sessions
- 1.83 million+ social media followers
- 245 million+ potential media impressions
- 169 million+ advertising impressions
- 234,258 newsletter subscribers
- 9,300+ queries handled by Ask The UMC
- 875 UM News stories and 305 new denominational content pieces
- 1,200+ local churches served
- 3,000+ training sessions
- 114,000+ messages sent/received through UMConnect text messaging services
- $142 million collectively in designated and apportionment giving
Staff across the agency contributed to meet the myriad of communications needs for the 2020/2024 General Conference of The United Methodist Church and its participants in multiple formats and delivery methods. Some stats include:
- 4.8 million advertising impressions
- 450,000 livestream views
- 75% increase in Ask the UMC live chat volume
- 80 UM News stories
- 50+ feature articles from media
