Nashville, Tennessee –Research shows that local churches and organizations seeking to excel in communications ministry will find the support they need within United Methodist Communications’ MyCom e-newsletter. A recent reader survey* revealed a 90 percent satisfaction rate, and 78 percent of readers stated that MyCom is the best source for communication tips and tools.
The award-winning newsletter helps local churches and organizations stand out in a noisy world by utilizing emerging trends, marketing, social media, outreach and technology. The bi-weekly publication offers helpful articles, online training, video tutorials and podcasts featuring proven tips, ideas and tools.
The MyCom editorial team regularly partners with United Methodist Communications (UMCOM) Research, soliciting subscribers to monitor performance and gather feedback on ways to ensure that content is meaningful to its readers.
“We work diligently to deliver content that church staff and volunteers want and need for their ministry success,” notes Email Marketing Manager, Josh Mullenix. The survey indicated that they’re meeting those needs as “it was noteworthy that 90 percent of respondents click through to content and 91 percent of respondents would recommend the newsletter and its materials to others.”
“Top survey responses show that within MyCom, readers found quick-to-read, relevant information, learned new things and gained awareness of resources available in The United Methodist Church. In fact, 81 percent of readers share learning with others in their church, and 69 percent say the information improved their church’s marketing and communication,” shared Research Manager Teresa Faust. “Some highlights of content valued included marketing tactics for those with low budgets and minimal tech skills, tools on hybrid worship and resources for outreach to various age groups.”
The study also provided valuable insights about what communication resources local churches find beneficial. Senior Manager of Local Church Services Craig Catlett was pleased to see that UMCom offers services “in most of the areas on which people commented, so there’s great potential for partnering with church leaders if they apply for help.”
