In an age in which fewer people carry cash or checkbooks and most monetary transactions occur digitally, many churches still rely on traditional means to fund their ministries. Limiting giving opportunities to passing offering plates during service, asking members to make pledges and even offering online giving means congregations are missing out on critical fund-raising opportunities.
The Non-Traditional Revenue Tool Kit is a new resource from the General Council on Finance and Administration. It will help churches develop creative new strategies for fundraising. It provides a biblical and theological basis for fundraising and offers tips and suggestions for holding fundraising events or fostering ministry partnerships with local businesses and communities.
