Purpose
Connecting the Church in mission.
Vision
The General Board of Global Ministries equips and transforms people and places for God’s mission around the world.
Achieving this vision requires a diverse global staff that meets international standards of professionalism in all areas of technical, relational, denominational and financial work. Global Ministries values the faith and trust of its constituents, including donors, and therefore strives to maintain rigor, integrity and transparency in its financial stewardship. It collaborates with other United Methodist general agencies and ecumenical organizations working in the same areas of the world and with local churches and annual conferences, providing the opportunity for meaningful and transforming participation in God’s mission.
Four Mission Goals
- Make disciples of Jesus Christ.
- Strengthen, develop, and renew Christian congregations and communities.
- Alleviate human suffering.
- Seek justice, freedom, and peace.
