IN RE: Review of a Bishop’s Ruling on Questions of Law Raised during the Upper New York Annual Conference as to Whether the Annual Conference has lawful authority under the Discipline [including ¶¶ 1506 and 1507] and Judicial Council Decisions, to authorize the removal of over ten million dollars from the Conference Board of Pension and Health Benefits and apply said funds to the payment of legal fees, litigation costs, and settlement payouts, stemming primarily from the lawsuits brought against the Boy Scouts of America, et al, and if same is not prohibited, is it legally permissible to remove said funds without the approval and consent of the Conference Board of Pension and Health Benefits pursuant to the Discipline [including ¶ 1507.3] and Judicial Council Decisions?
