Diversity and inclusion: A local experiment

The Rev. Olu Brown started a new church in 2007 with a vision for "a multicultural gathering of people committed to sharing the love of Christ with the world.”

Since then Impact Church has never stopped striving for a multicultural community by reinforcing the importance of diversity in its preaching, outreach and marketing, but the church has learned some important lessons along the way,

Multicultural diversity does not just mean creating a place for everyone in the church, but practicing full inclusion and integrity of the whole community. Today the church has a new vision statement to create "an inclusive gathering of people committed to holistic salvation and doing Christ’s work in the world." For Impact, inclusion means welcoming people as they are without reservation.
