What is the General Administration Fund?
The General Administration Fund is one of seven apportioned funds of The United Methodist Church. The fund provides for the expenses of the sessions of the General Conference, the Judicial Council, special commissions and committees constituted by the General Conference and other administrative agencies and activities recommended for inclusion in the budget by the General Council on Finance and Administration (GCFA) and approved by the General Conference. It also maintains United Methodism’s official documents and historical artifacts; designates historical shrines, landmarks and sites; and implements a trustworthy system of administrative oversight and fiscal accountability.
How does The United Methodist Church distribute the General Administration Fund receipts?
The GCFA treasurer disburses the Generation Administration Fund as authorized by the General Conference and as directed by the council. Where the General Conference has not allocated definite sums to agencies receiving money from the General Administration Fund, the council or a committee designated by the GCFA has the authority to determine allocation amounts for each.
The General Administration Fund pays Judicial Council expenses, within a budget submitted annually by the Judicial Council to the GCFA for approval.
Can I give to the General Administration Fund online?
You cannot give online to the General Administration Fund. We hope to offer online giving to the apportioned funds in the future. Please encourage your leaders and congregations to support the General Administration Fund apportionment at 100%.
