The opening worship service challenged us to be focused on the future to which we are called. This was reflected strongly in Bishop Bickerton’s sermon, and through the many faces and voices of the worship leaders. The worship service sets for us a model as we move forward observant of who is participating and who is not. This chart illustrates the diversity of those who spoke during the worship service. Beyond these leaders, three musical groups brought a wide variety of musical diversity as well as racial and gender diversity of those leading worship.
Turning to tomorrow, we will want those elected to legislative committee leadership to be reflective of who we are as a total body. GCSRW will be reporting each day on how we relate to each other during the General Conference. We look forward to working with this community to reflect God’s beloved community at General Conference.
