Deeply-rooted

As we transition from spring to summer, we use the month of May to celebrate our United Methodist heritage and remember the contributions and sacrifices of those who came before us. May is Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, a time for honoring the cultural contributions of these two groups within both our church and our society. May 24 is Aldersgate Day, when we remember the night John Wesley felt his heart strangely warmed by the Holy Spirit (a date many consider the beginning of Methodism). The second Sunday in May is Mother's Day, a time when we celebrate the mothers everywhere who taught many of us how to love and began us on our faith journeys.

This month, explore resources that teach us about our United Methodist heritage, strengthen our local church ministries, and remind us all of the ties that bind us together as United Methodists, as Christians and as human beings.
